What's erased
- Your name and email address (overwritten so the original values are no longer stored or visible)
- Your phone number and saved traveller details (date of birth, passport information)
- Saved payment methods
- Saved trips
What we retain, and why
- Your account record (deactivated and anonymized) — we keep an inactive account row with your name and email overwritten and login disabled, rather than deleting it outright, so we can maintain accurate booking, financial, and support history tied to your past activity.
- Notification preferences — these settings are left as-is on the anonymized account record rather than cleared; only the linked push-notification device token is disconnected, so the account can no longer receive push notifications.
- Booking and ticketing records for paid or completed travel — airlines, hotels, and payment partners require these to exist to honour your travel, support refunds, and resolve disputes.
- Accounting records required by Canadian tax law — we are legally required to retain financial records for a set retention period regardless of account status.
- Anything required by legal obligation — for example a court order, a fraud investigation, or another binding legal requirement.
- Saved price alerts — these are turned off (deactivated) rather than deleted, so they stop notifying you immediately without an extra step to purge the underlying records.
Airlines, hotels, vacation rental hosts, and our payment processor keep their own independent records of any travel you've booked through us. We cannot delete those records on your behalf — if you'd like them removed, you'll need to contact that airline, hotel, host, or payment provider directly.
We process deletion requests within 30 days. Once complete, the personal data listed above is permanently erased or anonymized and cannot be recovered. Your account record itself is deactivated and anonymized rather than removed, and may be retained in that inactive state for the legal and accounting reasons described below.
